Cheeky question time: how the hell do you get the finish? Is is a combination of aluminium tape and translucent paints? I have a bunch of surface lures ally taped and looking like they want a similar paint job!!

yes luke i put a pattern on the foil tape spray the underneath white/then a light coat silver metalic
then put the foil on and do top half of the sides with a light blue then the top colour black or gold.brown or whatever you want /
then after that i spray all over with pearl blue .its like a clear coating but puts a pearl blue tone over it all like on shop bought megabass lures tend to have on .
it will turn the the black more blue mind and dilutes the brown s ,and other colours .the more coats of it the more paler the lure becomes if that makes sense .
all the paint is spray cans ,and i use an airbrush for the pearl blue.
then i put a coat of devcon on ,put the eyes on and another coat of devcon to finish it of
