tell her that it's being red helps hide the rod in low light. Switch off the lights and say...
"told you so"
Actually, red rods are REALLY hard to see at night. I can look over to Kev and see a arm waving around but no rod.
That doesn't happen against the sky line but against a mixed or solid background it's actually quite eerie.
