During this years Weymouth Lure Bass Festival, the raffle money raised was once again donated to the National Coastwatch Institution. We are fortunate here in having one of the institute's lookout stations at Portland Bill, the festival recognises the great work the lookout station does and are proud to provide them with whatever donations are raised during the festival.

This year the entrants to the festival raised £143 via the raffle during the Sunday evening prize presentation. This was donated to the institute following the festival, and the thank you letter has been attached below.

The festival looks forward to supporting them again next year (2011) and for those who may not be aware of what the institute does, I have added some details below.

The Coastwatch station based at Portland Bill.

The station based at Portland Bill has provided a very important service to vessels within its area including this Yacht, which was first seen and reported in distress by the NCI Portland Bill Lookout station. (The photos are courtesy of SAR helicopter 'Whisky Bravo' and the Weymouth RNLI lifeboat.)
