    Hello.
I apologise in advance if this is in the wrong section.
I've recently bought some abu tormentors 50mm floating lures. I'm getting plenty of hits on them from the wild brownies down the local river but I'm not getting the hook ups. On closer inspection the trebles are not the best in the sharpness stakes.
So do i try to sharpen them or replace them for better quality hooks. If i replace them can anyone recommend a better hook to use?

    Thanks

I'd be tempted to replace with small single hooks personally, certainly works on small plugs in rivers for perch and chub

Decoy plugging singles have offset eyes, and are made to go on plugs via a split ring. Size 6 would probably be bang on for 5cm

Might need to weight the hook if using singles. Those lures don't dive very deep at all, and are quite liable to tip off their wobble. Lighter hooks might unbalance them.

Thanks Michael. i did notice that by using heavy flourocarbon leaders will stop them swimming correctly. They do seem to be critically balanced.
