I stumbled across this floating fella whilst out today. I've grabbed and bagged him just incase it was something odd.

Just to mention it was saltwater.

Looks like a roach Ritchie. A heron or something probably dropped him after plucking it from one of the lakes.

Excuse my ignorance of the subject of Jersey freshwater fish but what freshwater fish do you actually have over there???

Roach Ritchie. Or should that be Roachie. Now that could stick. Big eye though?

There are a few SPs that imitate roach. Savagegear, Storm.....don't risk the napalm, just buy some.

Ritchie its a new species of 'Saltwater proof roach' that has been genetically altered to survive in saltwater etc and so provide water birds with nourishment.;-)

Thanks Keith I was just curious. So it just fish in ponds then which as you say is a bit boring a bit like trout in a reservoir.
