Bass stocks are heading for a crisis due to a combination of poor recruitment of recent years spawnings (poor survival) and unregulated overfishing

Emergency management measures are being discussed NOW by all EU member states

At UK level Inshore Fisheries Conservation Authorities (IFCAs) who manage our inshore waters are discussing bass management plans including proposals for bag limits for anglers

Defra are in discussions with EU fisheries and IFCAs

All of these need to be influenced in their decision making so that the proposals are not watered down (yet again) and that anglers get a fair deal rather than bearing the brunt of the bass recovery action plan - whatever it looks like.

If you have ever thought 'I'd like to get stuck in and do something about this' then now is the time and BASS would like to invite you to an Action Workshop on Sunday 19th October.

The Venue: The Almondsbury Interchange Hotel http://www.almondsburyinterchangehotel.com/

Times: 10:00am to 5:00pm (room will be booked from 9:30am)

How to get there:
