Interesting story in the times today about why bass has become so popular, we have a man in greece to thank for being the first farmed bass producer....and for those in ireland if you think you see illegally caught wild bass in a shop if its liver is dark red its wild because it has a low fat diet...or you can tell from the otoliths a bone in the ear it has rings and if theyu are uneven its wild and the amount of rings equals the age.....also the best part was a old quote form Ovid about bass:
"the crafty bass, whene'er the concious feel
Deep in their jaws infix'd the barbed stell
Writhing with restive fury backward bound
The hook dismissing through the widen'd wound"
