Bass movements

Having spent many wasted trips on the lures this year it was finally time to get a few bass on to the shore this year, so last week we dug out the tip tornados and got stuck in to a few bass on the lug and crab, now whilst out fishing i got thinking about the movement patterns of the fish we were targeting. i.e how far bass actually travel each day or about thier movements from tide to tide, we had about a dozen between the 2 of us but the fishing was patchy no fish for a while then 2 or 3 then quiet again..so obviously they are moving up and down the coast in numbers, but how far do they actually go, has anybody got any ideas on thier range so to speak.....

The lads are doing the same up here Barry lot of fish to 4lb being caught on worm and crab. Some are close so may try freelining crab on the spinning rod to get a bit more of a fight from them. Are you catching yours close in? Trouble is ours are likely to be after the crab and or the sand eels, will have to find out what the guys that have taken a few found in their stomachs. Some are definitely coming right close in to the rocks which line the top edge of the beach the rest is all sand and ideal for sand eels.
Only one way to find out their movements...tagging. Is anyone doing this already??
