hi mike, ive really worked the mag popper this year and its beaten the patchinko.lovely wtd action but what i did find is that it cant take a hiding.the pads inside the basses mouth removes the paint quite easily and somewhere on th lure lets in water.one morning id had 4 bass on the same lure which was new...but then it went quiet.so floated the lure in front of me and it was arse down...clipped another new one on and sport continued.yeh mike it is berkley, muscleflex 8ft....so so light, good backbone and fast tip.foxons tackle down the road sell it for 117 but i managed to get it from holland for 90.its a crackin rod to bridge over to higher grade stuff and ill always use it as its so light and have nailed bass up to 7lb on it without any problems.ive hammered it this year and the finish and rings are perfect.just bought an abu soron 40 which is a small 4000 size.pair these two up and its going to be fun...happy days.cheers daz

its weird guys,i used to bait fish for bass on my surf beach for years with decent results, not realizing the shallow reef to my right would turn out to be the best top lure sport ive ever had, been under my nose all these years.there is another reef down the south end but havnt clue how to fish it yet..ive got a pic of it, high water is about 18ft.trev,fishfordinner has more idea than me about his reef but we reckon it might be a low water mark only.ill try get the pic up
