Just wondering what the best type of ground or area is most productive to try first this early on in the season.

Anybody any thoughts? Estuary mouth, rocky coast or shingle storm beach?

The storm beaches are still pretty discoloured at the moment- anybodys experience or thoughts appreciated.

For bass I assume? In that case, the crabs will be on the peel soon so the bass will generally speaking be in areas which hold lots of crab wherever that might be in your area.

Good advice Andy.

I suppose a few things go hand in hand really (warmer water and peeling crabs). Around here at the moment, until the weather warms up and the land warms, I'd be heading for rocky areas away from the estuaries where all the cold fresh water is entering the sea. I don't know what the temperature of the river here is at the moment, but I'd hazard a guess that its lower than the sea - with this winter having been so cold. When the land starts to warm that could be reversed but for now and for the next few weeks, ideally (up here) I'd be avoiding too much cold frestwater.
