Bobbage and his bass

This is one of my favourite pictures of 2009. This is forum member Rob F AKA Bobbage with a lovely bass about 5LB. Rob came over to fish with Bob and me, he had an aweful time from the airline, they didnt bring his fishing rods on the plane with him. I lent the boy a 2-4oz bass rod and reel, and also a Rod Bar 270 and Shimano reel to get him going. It was a sound couple of days spent with Rob, drove him to his hotel and picked him up a couple of times. Well thats what its all about eh, guys come here and want to experience the joys of Jersey. Anyway I showed him the beauty of the mighty Zonk whilst he was here, poor Rob didnt know anything about the lure but soon realised its potential when he saw us catching bass on it. So this picture says so much to me, a guy, a lure, a bass, a week in Jersey. Good times and good mates for many years I believe.

Well Rob is such a nice bloke Simon, unlike you ha ha. Hey you know as well as anyone that anyone visiting Jersey is more than welcome to come out with Bob and me on our boat, weather permitting of course....

You and Nelson seemed too busy attracting Gars to bother with bass that day! :muttley: Very difficult fishing but we all caught and that 5lber hit the Zonk like a train! Lovely scrap!

Can't wait to come down again in the Summer!
