Forecast did not seem to promising but ventured out with Derek Buesnel at Seymour this morning. Time and time again people say to watch what the birds were doing and today was no excxeption with a number of gulls circling overhead and a few sat on the water,

Both of us were using my homemade Jersey wonders lures and it was not long before we were catching fish

a fish around the 2.5lb on a Jersey Wonder

Fish continued to come to the boat through out the day. We had 25 bass with a number ranging around the 4 to 4.5lb mark, a fair few around the 3 lb mark and the rest around the 2lb mark. We also had 10 nice pollack and 3 mackerel

Despite trying redgills the fish were only caught on the homemade lures

Carl we are catching a lot less big fish and the fishing during the winter is poor a few years ago we were getting a large number of bass during the winter at certain spots but not anymore

Carl there were a lot of nets Greve D Azette Green island and we have seen them at Seymour

kilometers of lines and nets out there Alan. Most completely unmarked. 4X4's driving over the 'ramsar' reef's, tyre tracks in the sand reveal untold damage being done to sensitive areas inbetween.

Between that and Aquaculture running riot down there, it's not such a great image.

Now, guys doing it 'within' the law, and making a living, I can just about tolerate. Free for all, no.
Only just the other day, In Bouley Bay, with divers down (and close), a guy dropped a long net inside the boat moorings and around L'islet. J number too, not JY.

They keep pointing the finger at the amateurs but they all have a role, or have 'had' a role.
