having read vidar's piece on power pro braid ,re the real breaking strains etc ,it became clear that many of you are using power pro. When i took up lure fishing for bass in october a tackle shop owner advised me to get some of this

does anyone else use it or know much about it? it seems to cast fine to me ,and havnt had a single wind knot yet
Also am i to take it that the real breaking strain is not what it says?

whilst on the line subject , i am using three feet of this

for my leader, is it a bit on the light side.especially for barnacle covered reefs?
any help most welcome.

Nothing wrong with the Rovex Air Strike (do not know about its real breaking strain) you will get a good idea about breaking strain when you have to hand pull out of a jam, thats when I first realised that Power Pro did not do what it said on the packet. Suffix leader IMHO is great.

That Rovex braid is brilliant, everyone that I know that uses it really rates it as an alternative to Power-Pro, it feels very simular indeed. To be honest in a business point of view its a great braid too as it is distributed by Masterline Walker who are a great company to deal with, better than Shimano who now distribute Power Pro. The Suffix stuff is also very highly rated, I personally would use 15lb or maybe 20lb. Let us know how long the Rovex lasts and what you think of it, always good to get a field test. Good thread by the way, good to hear of some other products.
