Very interesting read. I am on the verge of ordering some of the Daiwa Samurai braid. Has anyone used this yet and if so what about the performance?
I was thinking of going for the 15lb test which I believe is .18mm diameter.
Any first hand info (wind knots/no wind knots etc ?)

Colm,
Why not go for the Berkely Whiplash Pro Braid 30lb at 0.1 mm. Is this getting too thin?? Have used it off the beach and wrecking but not for spinning so do not know if there are any major problems with using it.

Cheers,

Has anybody tried the Whiplash for plugging?
Berkley Whiplash is by far the 'worst' braid that I have ever used.
I took some to Scottish Highlands on two week plugging trip to try out in 2002.
Found it to be unusable.
Power Pro is wonderful and it really is just like using mono,I dont even underfill the spools as you dont need to etc.

Well there you go Colm. No good for spinning! I must say it's a bit of a shock as it is reputedly one of the better, certainly the thinnest braids on the market and I was going to give it a go. Thanks for the info Nick.
