I just wondered, if there is a maximum weight that can be used with this method, before it becomes impractical. It certainly works when I've tried it lrf with 2-5gms, but was curious if it will still be OK for hrf as the weights increase,i.e. 7-20 gram. In my own mind, I'm thinking that there should be a balance between the main weight and the weight of your lure.

Yours confused as always

I've used 1/2oz Gary and depending upon depth and lure size, I know the Yanks use around 3/4 and 1oz but that is for heavy bouncing over the bottom.

Big problem with weight is the extra retrieve speed needed to keep it at the productive depth. The heavier the faster if fish are mid water.

Enter the Japanese casting egg and the Bombarda. Controlled sink rates with extra weight and mass but, very controllable with very small lures.
