Yes, rig it dead straight and cast with a snap shut finish but....
Not overpowered.

Out of all the lures I've ever cast, the best was the Lucky Craft Glass Minnow. Flies like a dart. They are rigged absolutely symmetrical.

I found that a Xlayer rigged with a jig head helicopters when casting directly into a wind ,sometimes you can not avoid this if your trying to cast up tide against the wind but if you angle your cast slightly down wind you can avoid this situation.

Yeah, I've often rigged them weedless before. Many thanks for all the replies. All make sense. I've had xlayers for years but don't use them that often; I tend to use other SP's such as motherworms, mann's shads, wriggly redeemers, etc.,... It just bugs me with jigheads when they helicopter and I lose distance!
