hi guys
just thinking of the fish I have caught in the more or less center of our city.
some fish I can understand,i.e mullet, flounder bass freshwater ell,sea trout
I have seen Salmon passing up river. Now here's my question. How is it the same
stretch of river I'm talking about can be one of the best cod fishing spots I know?
IS it there is a high salt content or is the cod like the bass can adjust to fresh-salt water?
I guess the first real saltwater is maybe 4-5 miles out side the city. ANY IDEAS?

Jim H told me one time he had codling on the fly,so why not the lure as well.
river fishing might not necessarily mean big rods and baits.
cod, like bass can be caught very close to bank or shore.Cod along with others will be my aim this year,
lure and hopefully the fly as well ( no harm in dream'n).

Before I could see no sense in spinning.I was bait fishing mad!
Now all i can think about is fishing more or less the same places after
the same fish But with ultra light gear.I now fly fish and have a Smith rod
very like the injection. So sea ,river, lake or pond I'm going to try and catch it!
NO more big rods for me.
