Mike, at the end of last season Simon Lewis and I were fishing in disgraceful weather, awful water clarity and yet we were outnumbered 3-1 on our mark by cormorants. I am sure there must have been bass there too as earlier in the year we had seen (at the same mark!) bass tail-slapping on a bait ball where the cormorants were feeeding - typically just out of casting range!
