Does anybody know of anywhere in the UK that actually has any of the Daiwa RCS reel parts in stock?

I doubt anywhere has them. Far too specialist for most shops to keep. Not to mention expensive too...... They do look the part though. I love the look of the machined aluminium handles and (erm) knobs.

Yeah its only simple bits I'm after as well Mike. Not necessarily asthetic, but the machine cut handle does make a big difference I think. They're in the Daiwa UK catalogue (have been for a few years), but I don't necessarily want to spend 6 months waiting for slow UK shop to get them in - which is why I'd LOVE it if somebody actually stocked them. I do live in a bit of a dream world...!

Funnily enough, I was this afternoon looking at the handles, to pimp my Certate 3000. Some of them weigh a bit though. The oversized silver drilled out ones look so sexy though!

I wanted the machined handle for a Certate 2500 to pimp it up a bit. Lots of the Japanese guys use custom parts on Exists and Stellas!!!! Silly money for some of it.

Ben, have you considered getting it from Japan? It might be the easier option.

Thats the easy option obviously Mike, but UK prices are actually very, very good (better than Japan I think!)! If somebody can be bothered to order them in then I'd rather get them here.

I have got a new RCS knob on my Certate 4000. A fit of winter madness maybe, but it is very nice. Big price variations out there so caveat emptor.

...this could be tricky. Every shop I've spoken to so far doesn't have them in stock and reckons they might take a while to get hold of. How much do i love daiwa UK?! I'll be paying more (in every way) and ordering from japan at this rate!

Just received a reply from one shop who has actually contacted Daiwa to find out about the parts. Apparently they're "Out of Stock" at Daiwa.............! How the hell can they be out of stock of items that hardly anybody buys? Why even advertise them in their catalogues when they blatantly don't actually sell them?! Ben Field is mad! Japan it is then. :-x

Daiwa themselves have replied now as well. They're out of stock and cannot supply the parts. As much as I love Daiwa, more evidence of their uselessness in the UK...!

Think I'm about to Tim. They're available in France, although expensive. Like all the other decent stuff Daiwa do (there's a lot of it, as we saw in Nantes!), its only across the channel but Daiwa UK don't want to get it over here. Scumbags.

Just buy it from Japan, f*ck em. There must be enough UK business to justify someone opening a boutique online store for import reels and upgrade parts..

I'm loving the part upgrades. Really annoys me that they put such rubbish handle knobs on nice reels like Stellas and Certates. Have bought an upgrade RCS jiggy handle for my Ryoga and a Jigging Master and Fisherman T Bar and Knob for my Ocea Jigger and Twinpower SW. Really makes them look the business.

Next upgrade will be duplon soft touch knobs for my PX68 when I order it ;-)
