Relief at last!

Went out yesterday after work to a nice little purbeck cove sheltered from the NE wind for a short session.

I have recently acquired some SPs having read all of the excellent advice on this forum and wanted to give them a proper go.

First of I tried a small grub like SP on a small jighead and immediately picked up a couple of small pollack. Bouyed by this initial success, I rigged an Xlayer to a decoy jig head and employing a jerky sink and draw retrieve tactic. It was not long before it was hit by a nice bass. It wasn't a monster at about 3lb but it was my first of the season and after a half dozen fruitless sessions I was delighted to lift the curse.

I continued with the Xlayer for a while and also tried out my new Garatide (which looks the business) but no more joy.

Still a lovely evening and I didn't see another soul all night - bliss!

The Purbeck Coastline is beautiful, and a fabulous place to plug. Well done on the bass. Will be down that way soon.
