Got up early to try somewhere new this morning, found the water filthy on arrival but not to be deterred I managed a couple of schoolies of 1lbish each on a chartruse saltiga minnow...water was less than 1ft visibility in places. I now feel more confident of catching in conditions I wouldn't have considered of chucking a lure into 6 months ago...you live and learn

Nice one Mike. Super satisfying when it actually works out when you start the day expecting the worst!

It's interesting how what you think will be a bad day will turn into something special and vice versa. I prefer rough conditions as long as the wind is not too strong. One of my best days a couple or years ago was when a force 6/7 moderated to nothing but large waves were breaking on the beach and bass were herding small pollack close in in a small cove. Amazing sight and great fishing with floating plugs (poppers).
Nick.
