    The Manic works well for Bass and other species of fish in the UK . It is a lure that's most effective when fish are feeding near or on the surface . Also , because it's a Sinking Pencil it can cast quite a far , the 135 version will cast further than a Patch 140 , so you can cover a lot of ground with the lure .

    I've used the manics their a surface/subsurface lure that sinks when you reel in it raises to the surface, stop reeling in and it drops tail first fast so isn't to great over shallow rocky ground as also landing from cast sinks straight to the bottom

    You can fish these in 2-3ft as long as you feather them down and get them moving as soon as they splash down, although there's obviously better suited lures.
