An unusually early Saturday finish for me at just before 4pm, saw me heading shore side for an hour with the pups. My first outing of 2017 & hopefully plenty more to come.

I was chucking the usual sea trout lures, plus two new to me wobblers. These can be fished amazingly slowly for a sinking lure.

One sea trout swirl is all that I managed, but I did see my first gannet of the year & plenty of other wildlife. Including two seals, one of which stayed just in front of me for the whole time.

The boys went berserk as soon as I picked a fishing rod up, so they enjoyed the outing as much as I did.

Nice to see plenty of these bass regulations signs about too.

Well done on getting our Nigel. I have got a busy few weeks ahead with work, but will be on it with vengeance from mid March.

I take it yellow is the new red Nigel, at least you managed to get out and wet a line. Looks like the dogs enjoyed the trip as well.

A birthday treat to myself Steven. I've never fingered an Illex rod before in anger, so when I spotted a brand new one on offer for a tad over £200, I thought I'd have a punt on it.

First trip out & I'm quite liking it.

It's an Illex Element Rider S230M for any of you Timothy Potters out there. :spoongemon:

Good to see you out fishing with the boys. Just been watching Julia Bradbury doing the IOM walk on catch up TV. I don't know why, but I instantly thought of you when she explained about the origins of the name 'Big Girl' waterfall at Dhoon Glen.
