Ok gents, this is the news that you have been waiting for. After some discussion with our imbedded exile, Mr Tim Griffin, we have decided to put forward a date for the first Big-Bumble of 2010.

Same venue as last time. Same principle as last time.

The suggested date is the weekend of 24th & 25th April.

This date should avoid major holidays around then, so it shouldnt be too much like Muldoon's picnic !!

One slight change this time, is that whilst we are proposing to have the main bumble on the Sunday (25th), we are proposing that if anyone wanted to come along for a Saturday afternoon bumble first (completely optional of course), stay overnight locally (details being followed up by Tim), have a few beers & a T-Bone, and then kick-off again on Sunday morning for the full-day bumble . . then that would be spankingly gorgeous :wackit: ! I'll be doing that.

So, Tim will be along shortly with further details . . . other than that, it'll be good to get a few travelling bumblers from around the country along.

Bring it on !!!!! :jump:

Many thanks to my "glamorous assistant" for the post. Be good to see as many of you as possible and see how we compare to the Jersey Bumble who are out on the same date. No competition or prizes here, just a social fishing meet although I would hope we can get pics of any captures? For any that didn't join us last year, we fished lure only and on a catch-and-release basis. This was entirely voluntary and whilst I would request we do the same again, I rely on the conscience of those joining us to do what makes them happy. Location is just East of Tenby in South Pembs, Wales.

So, the pub has B&B for up to 11 people, mix of family rooms, twins and doubles. Rough cost £40 per person. PLEASE NOTE: No rooms are reserved so it's first come first served on the rooms. Can I suggest you book ASAP if you plan staying there? They also have camping: £15 per pitch per night inc electric hook-up. They might do their caravans if we can fill one - 6 people. Unsure on costs for one night. There is ample (free) parking and anyone with a motor home would be able to stay on site.

I have booked the pub for bacon rolls, tea & coffee as before at 8:30am Sunday 25th April. We will need to confirm numbers nearer the time. Anyone wanting accomodation will have to make their own arrangements, but I will send out a number and website when we get responses and ask everyone to say they are with the fishing party. Evening Meals etc (very good grub and beer at this pub by the way) can be booked on an adhoc basis.

I guess anyone can fish the Saturday "unofficially", rendezvous at the pub in the evening and then join the "bumble" on Sunday. Anyone wanting help on marks to fish will get all the advice we can offer. There is the option to fish almost on-site for those not wanting to travel or who have kids etc. Basically there are plenty of places within an hour to suit most capabilities and preferences.

Please PM me to confirm your interest and for the location and contact details of the pub. See you in April!

I'd probably have to be a last minute entry depending on whats happening work wise (and would probably camp to make things easy), but it could be a possibility!!

If it's gotta be one or the other Gwyn, try and make it for the Sunday, as that'll be the main all-day Bumble.

You would be very welcome. The more the merrier !! We have a lot of ground down there to choose from, so no danger of over-crowding !!

I hope you & your Dad make it.  There were 5 lots of father & son last time, looks like a few more this time !!
Nath, we were rather hoping you would join us so the answer is "Of course"! I need to get you to a quiet spot and drag out of you that secret tip that Keith shared with you in Jersey last year - seems to have radically improved your results since then. I need all the tips I can get :muttley: As many of the Cornish crew as can come - you're all welcome! We'll PM you details of location and poss marks in plenty of time so you can do some research. Softie will give you some ideas as well I'm sure.
Be grand to have you with us. Let's hope the water is warming up and the bass are around by the end of April!
Fancy a couple more jolly foreigners in Welsh Wales then? Sounds like a plan to me, It'll be great to put names to faces.
You welsh lot are great...much friendlier buch than us English....lol.....
is there somewhere to stay...i.e B&b or hotel close by?
