Hi guys I have a deep water mark that has produced several decent fish for me this year using live sandeel and between 1oz and 3oz pierced bullet on a long flowing trace that I want to attack in 2010 with lures. question is how would you go about this?

the terrain is medium/rough, kelp, pinnacles and i usually cast parallel to the rock as ive only picked up pollack and wrasse straight out!! my initial thought was to use a dropshot rig with the lure set say 2-3 foot and slowly wiggle/trip the lure across the face/edge? i have used jigs and lost quite a few!!! so maybe looking to weight them horizontally? another option i am considering is with a lure i purchased today (ima honey trap) as this sinks horizontally so i could work it just on/off bottom. water average depth is about 22-25feet.

thanks in advance

Hi Iestyn
I would give drop shotting a go but remember to use some sore of rotten bottom between the lead and the lure
cheers Dai, was gonna slide a couple of rubber float stops before and after the weight so it would pull through, and it gives me options with depth control.
