guys,if you were fishing from a rock outcrop{ like a set of fingers} that had wide gulleys in between, instead of fanning out casts in front of you,how many of you would cast the lure across to the opposite outcrop or slightly behind towards the shore for fish?cheers daz

Definitely Darren! Probably wouldn't be aiming out in front much at all!

Daz, my best mark last year has features like this. We caught fish close in to the shore, casting across and along the gulleys and off the ends of the fingers of rock. Just a question of working your way out systematically. We found soft lures worked better close in and in the gulleys. Amazing how close to your feet you can find fish too.

One of my better fish from last year came from a cast back up to the shallow end of a narrow gully.......she was mooching around amongst the boulders and can't have been in any more than 12-15" of water :D

Always try the shallows mate and 'blend in' if possible
