Luke will be coming (8), so i'll need to factor that in, so somewhere not too distant would be better, but not a show-stopper. It'd just be nice to get something on the end of the line which 'really' pulls back !!Jordanis3r said:Canaries can be difficult - small tunny and bluefish - Avram on the "other" forum is the best resource for Fuerteventura and Canaries fishing - are you limited by flying time with the kids?
Jordanis3r said:nah you don't need a travel rod! make yourself a DIY tube from B&Q - hard drainage pipe and cap both ends off with foam / ductape and bubble wrap
Steer clear of the Flambeau Bazooka tubes - mine is shot after one trip to the seychelles :/
Where ever it broke he came back with less gear somebody nicked it :wackit:Spitfire66 said:Jordanis3r said:nah you don't need a travel rod! make yourself a DIY tube from B&Q - hard drainage pipe and cap both ends off with foam / ductape and bubble wrap

my bazookas been fine so far - its sturdy (except when fully extended) - what happened (where did it break?)
Alex, i know a chap that goes to the Azores twice a year lure fishing and always has a good trips. Dont think he goes that early in the year thoughJordanis3r said:Hmm if I wanted to go somewhere I would maybe try the Azores - fairly small flight time, weather may be a bit iffy but a good chance of something fishy ... or if you can do a longer flight then Florida or Cabo San Lucas would be on the list - Cabo would definately get something pulling your string and its fairly cheap out in Mexico still at the moment!
Jordanis3r said:Azores looks great - property looks cheap too - sort of like Devon but with bigger fish!
My bazooka has split at the head joint (weak point whether it is extended or not :/) spoke to Mick about it as an off cuff remark and he reckoned he had seen a few go there - inc one he owned :/
