Adam and I fished Gower this evening and other than one hit, which didn't stick, we blanked spectacularly....again. Water looked OK, a bit coloured, but with a bit of movement I thought we may have been in with a shout. Plently of Blennies and Crabs in the pools so it can't be long.Till next time !!

Hi Mike,

That's a shame, I was thinking of popping down on the weekend. Was there much weed about?

Cheers

Unlucky Mike.

Weirdly, even though I've been catching down here (from the place where I met you), there is still very little life in the pools. Keep at it.

I'd already promised to take Adam fishing and the swell wasn't up to much. I take it, from your reply, you were also trying for a silver bar last night. How'd you get on ?
Mike, you wouldn't have seen the turkish blue caddy down the lanes mate; I'm in Trowbridge, however, my fish holding buddy was hard at it yet saw nothing!

On a different note but still related to your comments.....you know anyone after a decent summer fish, 6'ish, keel fins, original Chris Christenson, almost new?

You haven't got a ten year old boy with you that'll find and catch anything that moves in his field of vision. I wouldn't know how much life was about without him !

Went again last night and caught two, well one and a half ! and lost another. Fished a local rock mark and it just looked right, with a one to two foot swell hitting the rocks and good clarity (for Gower). After about 20 minutes I had the first, a tiddler which was only just bigger than the Maria Chase BW it took. I fished on, casting into the roughest ground I've fished for while (and that's saying something for here !) and after about 10 minutes hooked and then lost a good fish, it was taking line and giving a good account of itself, when it rolled on the surface leaving my plug behind in the boil. Gutted ! After about another hour I had another fish of about 3 1/2lb before calling it a night, walking back up the bluff whilst the sun was setting in a big red ball above Worms Head.
Adam had decided not to come with me. When I told him he had a face like a wet weekend in February. Next time boy.....next time ;)

Well done, Mike. Sorry about the big one but it seems the Welsh bass are here at last! Not much chance of me going without George these days. Shame he hasn't had one yet but it won't be long now....
