Anyone used these in the UK or Ireland?
I've used them in Oz previously, but wondering how they will go over here

I have 2" minnows, 3" minnows and 5" jerk shads
and some 2" shrimp on the way

I've used the Gulp Alive sandworms with great success.

In fact in a test I did they outfished natural, local ragworm. Both fished static ledgered at night for bass!

Got some shrimps too to try for the wrasse.

BTW I'm referring to Gulp Alive in the tub with "juice", not the placcy packet Gulp.

As far a I know it's just the smelly sauce they are kept in the jars with.

I'm sure it helps with the attraction, but as far as I know there are no different flavours for minnows or crab or worm etc.

I guess you can add the packet stuff to the jar, except the ruddy lids leak like a sieve so most of the juice ends up in the rucksack!

theres smelly sauce in the packs as well - just not as much

I know a few people have been looking for ways to keep them after they've been opened
Given that the smelly sauce leaks form the jars and the packs ...

maybe some of those snap seal tupperware style containers?

Gulp works just fine but I hate the texture on the standard stuff.
The Gulp Alive is much nicer.

I heard they do a more exclusive range too.

So I take it Gulp is plastic with oils & juices added or am I incorrect??

Also is Gulp a lure or a bait ???
Can of worms! General feeling is that yes, its a lure. Some SP's have flavour in them when made, some people smear an attractant gel on them as well. Gulp fished well LRF this winter when other lures struggled.

Its a lure made from bio-degradable material.
a bait woud be a natural material (i.e squid strips cut into a lure shape)

well thats my story and I'm sticking to it ...

We'll see more biodegradable lures in the future

yeah its a lure! i also think squid strips on a jighead would also be a lure.

aren't all baits lures?? ie crabs and worms ect

i think so

here we go again....

I personally choose not to condemn Gulp on it's bio-degradable origins. How can we say, Gulp isn't a lure, or is a lure based upon it's base materials.
What is an xlayer made from ?

Personally, It is artificial and that is the basis of the word 'decoy'.
Good enough for me though I rarely use the stuff anyway.

Good old fashioned wooden lures are made from organic biodegradeable material so i think the arguement against stuff like gulp is lost on me i'm afraid.
