I’ve been getting increasingly frustrated lately not being able to get out at weekends to wet a line. Unfortunately work has just taken over everything for the past couple of Months and I have been out of the country most weeks in Europe and Asia pacific. I was on my way from Changi Airport to my hotel in Singapore this morning and spotted this place “The Lure Haven” through the window. Stop!!!! Sleep can wait. I then spent the next couple of hours in this little porn palace getting a shiny plastic fix. The prices weren’t that different and I would say on average about 20 to 25% less than what we are used to but then again the exchange rate is pathetic at the moment, hopefully it will improve before my next trip out here. So at least I’ve been able to spend a little time getting tooled up which is part of the fun.

No sat in the lounge at the airport right now, can’t be away for another weekend. I did manage to fix up a trip for next time I’m out here though. They were really great people and wanted to know a lot more about lure fishing in the UK and very jealous with the amount of coast line we have. They were telling me that it is now illegal to fish from much of Singapore’s coast and even take it in turns to act as lookout while a few others fish.

How did I miss that place? That place looks the business and curiously the area looks quite familiar, I'm really hoping that its new or something and that I didn't just miss it or something stupid like that. Whereabouts is the shop? I was out there a few months ago and went down to beach road and pottered around all the fishing shops down there but then I stumbled on a place called 'Anglers Outfitter' which had some decent lure fishing gear and as you say it was a good bit cheaper than here, unfortunately I found it on the way home from the honeymoon and was smashed so I couldn't buy half the stuff I would have liked. I had a great chat with the guys in there and like you say they were telling me about the fishing over there and curious to know more about what the fishing was like over here.

Dave, “The Lure Haven” is on Bussora Street just off Beach Road and runs parallel with Arub Street. I spent a great couple of hours in there so I’m well “Plugged Up” for when I do get a chance to get out. They had some very interesting travel rods from Japan that they were really rating so will be checking them out properly on my next visit. If your ever out in Singapore the address is

The Lure Haven,
10 Bussora Street,
Singapore 199488.

A great bunch of guys.

****, it was a pleasant distraction after spending a tough week in India or the land of life threatening toilets as I like to call it. I’m going to reserve judgement on heaven until I can come over and buy you a pint, hopefully later in the summer.

I don't know how but I some how managed to miss that shop, I must have walked right by it and not seen it although there are a lot of fishing shops around that area so I was probably distracted. Ah well I'll know for next time.
