Hi all

I have been an angler for more than 40 years now.

The area I currently live in offers some of the most attractive river and lake fishing in Denmark.

The lakes and rivers here are known for their great stock of sea trouts, rainbow trouts, and even salmon. If you should decide to come to this area, you will undoubtedly have a wonderful outdoor experience in quiet surroundings, if you choose to stay close to our rivers and lakes.

Bring your friends or family. Both beginners and experienced anglers will be challenged for sure.

You can also enjoy our many put-and-take lakes located in cosy areas - and catch a fish almost every time!

The entire family will love the activities - like fishing lakes for both children and adults with barbecue and roofed over cottages. If you feel for other experiences, LEGOLAND, the waterworld Lalandia and the drive through Givskud Zoo are located close to our great fishing areas. Additionally, there is a rich variety of art in the open space, exciting shopping and a number of nice restaurants. And my city Brande have a very interesting Street Art Festival every year which this year is from 1-3 July.

The best part of the Haervej also go through our area at the small town Engesvang , at the Stenholt Forest and Noere Snede. Before the invention of cars and trains, the jutlandic main road went along the watershed through the country all the way from the German border to the town Viborg. Back then the Haervej was not just one road, but a system of humble gravel paths and hollow roads that formed the Haervej as we know it today (stretching over about 250 km). Today the name “Haervejen” means bicycle path and walking path, which were established by the counties in the 1980エer years. At the Haervej is also a bridle path from Viborg to Baekke.

You can find free information about the fishing in my area and other great free info and help at our local tourist information office. You can find their website at visitikast-brande.com if you should be interested in the fishing or other opportunities in my area.

Nice to meet you all

Welcome Finn, looking forward to some trouty reports
Here is another anglers story from this area.

“Angling fever”

“The story already begins last winter, where I participated in a “tie your own flies” course. We managed to tie 6 beautiful flies. On the 4th of June, I went to the river with a friend to discover a new area at Vorgod River. The river was very low and clear, but we decided to try to catch a salmon with our flies. I chose a small brown fly from our course.

After a couple of hours, we found a perfect spot with deep water and stream near a curve. I was so excited and said to my friend, “Oh my God, this looks good”. Almost at the very same time, I felt a push to my fly. I really concentrated my attention and did not hear my friend at all. A couple of pulls more and I loosened the line. My first salmon caught with a fly had become a reality. 10 minutes later after a good fight, where the salmon wanted to hide in the weeds, my friend could draw up the salmon with a solid grip on the tail. We took a few photos, measured it to 96 cm, and released the salmon again to its perfect element.

It was a very special experience, and the salmon was caught with my 11 feet class 8 rod with a sink 0,5 sliding head and the small brown unloaded fly”.
