I think i may need a little inexpensive s/p rod to try & get me up and running - as i suspect that my Shukan may be a little too stiff ?? Any recommendations for something reasonable to get me off the ground?

Si, get yourself down to tacklesmart and have a shufty....something light and flexi until you know why it must be the supermix or the injection or the super distance.....accept 2nd best till then bud

Nope, but I'm about to upset a few here maybe with this..........buy cheap and buy twice......get the rod you know will work, its not like your gonna sell all those sp's you've got is it and you just won't be able to get the results you crave without it

Get a super distance mate, then let me have a waggle, I'll get the injection and let you look at it and wonder if its any better than the super distance

have got a 8.6feet Bushwhacker, does serve me well. And the shükan is stiffer but for me the better.

Somewhen in the future I will meet someone who lets me try his red, I fear this moment...

Si, He gives me exactly the same advice....buy cheap and buy twice...... I know he wants one, I know he will get one and probably soon, he just needs a good enough excuse. So Simon just buy the bloody RED ROD so I can have a go !!!!! You know it makes sense.

The Team Dragon rods are highly regarded and used by great many Scandinavian soft plastics anglers, which have been using these techniques for decades.

That looks like a nice piece of kit Vidar. One question though, the description seems to indicate that it is very fast action (X-Fast). I thought i was after a softer action rod for the s/p's ?

Somehow the complete misconception that fast or extra fast rods necessarily means stiff has managed to take hold. This is absolutely not the case and quit a few of my extra fast action soft plastics rods has a very limber tip but with a strong backbone, which is exactly you want for these techniques.

Extra fast action just means that it it’s the last 20% of the rod that predominantly bends and not that it is stiff like a billiard cue :) :) :)

Oh, I didn’t mean to be rude in any shape or form :) :) :)

No, I haven seen one but I know a couple of very good Swedish Zander anglers that use them for soft plastics techniques, and rate them very highly indeed.

How about that Daiwa Infeet that Fishing Guersey got, he seems pretty pleased and I think you can get them for just under £140.
Check out his posts on it.

I am loving the infeet as a cheap alternative to something else. I'm quite sure an injection (or maybe supermix) will feel better but for a third of the price I am well chuffed with taking the leap to a specialist rod.

Liam H has one as well so he may be better to comment on the rod after longer use but he's had bass to 5 and a half and rockies about the same on it no troubles. I've not had more than a 2lb pollack on it and obviously no problems at all. I'm happy to recommend on my use so far. I am also very happy to recommend buying from Plat in Japan online. Superb service. You can get them in Europe I think but the exchange rates are so poor at the moment not sure how the price difference works out.
