I'm thinking of a trip over in June to have a go for some Pollack and Wrasse. Have any of you ever fished there? If so, will I need a hire car, or can I take my own car over on the Ferry?

Thanks, Liam

Thanks, Liam

I lived on Tresco for a few months (some mothers of wrasse & stonking pollock there)
- I could give you a couple of marks on Tresco (for mullet too) - Im not too up to date on St Marys but the smaller islands have some banging fishing (people underrate the summer sharking there - shed loadsa blues to be had)

Why not ask Henry if his mate ( Del) would look after you (hes St Marys based I think)

Cheers Tom,

is there access to deeper water on Tresco too? How do you travel from island to island?

theres a cheap ferry between the islands - circuits most of the Islands depending on the tide. Boat hire for island hopping isnt too expensive either (rented the whole ferry once to pick someone up lol - was "cheap" as I recall)

hell yes - theres deep water all over (not just Tresco) - that deep water wreck Henry & his mate fish on his video is an easy paddle too

tbh you wont have a problem finding the wrasse & pollock - I would personally jump the ferry and Island hop and give all the smaller islands a pop (most of the smaller islands can be walked around in an hour or so & a few of them have pubs where you can grab a bite)
