Well there I was, looking at my Zonk Gatarides wondering when I last used them, playing with the lip, then snapped not only one but two...

So I now after alternatives to the Zonk Gatarides.... Any recommendations chaps?

imho gataride is worth 10 120s mate, it will out fish the 120 8 times out of 10, the flappy lip doesnt seem to bother me at all only broke one in 4 years:)

Ive cut the little plastic nodes off the bottom of my gaterides so the "flappy bit" now breaks back instead of breaking compleatly. it then can be reset. Never broke one yet but no doubt it will happen now i have said it!!!

That's a cunning pimp Mr Robson. Does it ever fold back on a clear water retrieve ( ie no weed about)?

Don't get me wrong, I love the gatarides but there has to be something similar on the market (that I haven't got yet) that's a little more durable???

Maybe in Ireland mate! I spose that's why I have your old 120s! they work for me, never had a touch on the gataride. I've had about 15 bass this year on the 120.

I'd say it depends more on the sort of terrain you fish over. The Gateride runs a lot shallower that the standard 120. I've had a lot of fish on the Gateride this year, but i wouldnt be able to use a standard 120 on the same marks.

Unfortunately not, he's only got the two colours both of which are quite common... I doubt whether I'll ever be able to find them....

Never !!! it takes quite alot of pressure to get the bib to fold back "to the extent you think its going to break" Graham hill has vid on youtube on it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_8Mcq2C3xY

The only thing with Gee's method is that he forget that plastic wears... If you take the nodes off then only test it once as if you keep popping it back you'll wear out the plastic and eventually will just flop limp like a noodle....
