Tying flies is all about experimenting

This is a pattern from Jonny King in the States .. it use a synthetic by H2O called Farrars flash blend ( Steve Farrar developed it )

I ordered the Farrar flash Blend from [email protected] and it arrived this morning

This is my first attempt at the pattern following Jonny's instructions on SOL

Its fishable but not perfect .. As I tie more they'll get better , it takes time to get the feel for a new product ..new to me anyway

I'll post more images as I tie them

it doesn't look like there much difference .. but the head is denser on this one and a better profile

This is going to sound werid but I am not a huge fan of synthetics - bought a load of DNA flies when I was first starting out and they kept fouling and didn't have the greatest action in the water - guess it is also Jim's / Andy's fault too! (Jim introduced me to Andy's flies!) and I haven't seen anything that comes near them ...
