    Hi all,

I've just seen Paul Whittingham's video on BASS about using a loop in the end of braid rather than a mono/fluro leader. Just wondered what everyone uses and why (obviously I know fluro is invisible and mono is nearly invisible in water)? The loop idea seems to make sense as less knot equals less potential breakage/weakness points. If a loop is used, I'd assume the braid colour is important?

    regards,

    Mike

Most of us will use a fluro leader because of the abrasive resistance over braid especially when fishing over shallow reefs.

A leader will also prevent the damage of the fish if it rolls over the line which they do a lot. Braid straight through will lift scales and cut into the skin of the fish.

    cheers
