Simon - be very careful if you ever try West Dale - there is a very dangerous undercurrent (even at thigh depth)

Its very rarely fishable there anyway imo

Excellent info there Tom, good for everyone to know that :D

Was messing in the water there as a kid and thought I wasnt going to be able to wade in - scary indeed

Went there this year and was nervous at thigh deth in chesties

Funnily enough it was down there me and my brother found a dead monkey (blown away we were with 9 & 11 or whatever we were at such a find - much better than the usual rusty sea-mines)
Dad was suitably unimpressed when we built a bonfire of driftwood and tar lumps and slung the monkey on (monkey smoke blew straight over just about everybody on the beach lol)
One thing I remember to this day is wondering where the hell it had come from & dad saying some sailor had probably slung it overboard before getting into harbour (always the realist dad)
Oh btw it was something like a small baboon

Si, looks like you are very busy researching the Welsh coastline for next season - some delightful looking marks there if only we could get some of that weather! There's an endless range of bassy looking marks around the Pembs (north & south) and Ceredigion coastline. I think we will need a coordinated attack from the Welsh boys next season! (and before you ask, yes I have more or less given up on this season)

That Blue Lagoon looks great, wonder if there are any pigs in there.

Not worried about the porkers Andy, check the rip of that channel which floods into the lagoon.......gotta be good on the flood maybe :?: Access looks kinda thoughtful though......does anyone know?

The blue lagoon is a disused quarry that the people who go coasteering regularly jump into from the ledges above (George shared this with me tonight - he was there in the summer). Will only be an "off-season" mark I think. Got to be worth a recce...

Tim, there is no off season, only poor weather  and I'm guessing we now have a means of access

Softie, I meant "off-season" in terms of no people in the water scaring all the fish away! Twenty kids in wetsuits diving in that lagoon won't help much I wouldn't think :D Maybe early mornings during the "summer"?

As said on the lables of peter storm clothing "there is no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing" Myself i think there telling porkies and the weather we have had of late has been bad mabee i should look at my wardrobe and get some softs out and drop them into likely looking holes or get some out under a float
