After being with many of you over the weekend it Weymouth, I must admit the highlights of the weekend for me was having an Indian meal with my Welsh family, and being with so many of you at the prize giving. I expect many of you there would agree the evenings went too quickly. I was thinking about the B.A.S.S AGM, and how they meet up and have a good chat etc. I know some of us go to Nantes, and to be honest I really look forward to Nantes as the evening meals in the hotel are brilliant fun.

Do you think we could arrange a propper evenings fun at one of the bumbles, make it an annual event? We would needa social club to ourselves!!

Are you collecting suggestions ****?!?!?

1. Cornwall. Ben Field could arrange a bumble weekend. Lots of caravan parks down that way where you can hire a caravan for the weekend or pitch a tent. And they have social clubs on the sites. Out of school holidays they seem quite empty. Sorry Ben you did suggest it!!

2. If the CLA game fair could work - I can get a social club for the evening!

****, you are quite right in that we need to be able to get together for a "proper" social. The Weymouth Festival is brilliant, but the emphasis is on the fishing for most as there is the competitive element. At a "Bumble" of some description, we would of course fish, but not feel the same obligation to put in the hours by fishing late and getting up early. I'm for it - where are we going??

CLA could be a good idea as it is usually held in a fairly central location, next year it will be at Blenheim Palace, oxfordshire (ideal for you Ivan!) FRIDAY 22 JULY - SUNDAY 24 JULY

Note to ****...I hear there are some good Pike and Perch at Blenheim ;) make sure you have some time booked to *ahem* demonstrate on the lake.

As a few of us will be going anyway there's no reason we couldn't arrange something for that weekend.
It could work out really well as it's likely Henry Gilbey and Nick Hart will be there again so we may be lucky enough to have them join in or give a talk like Dr Mike did at Weymouth.
Hywel Morgan (world fly casting champ) has also recently caught his first bass on the fly (according to my magazine) so he may be interested if he gets the bug. Something for the Welsh boys!

The temptation to fish is always there so I guess somewhere inland so you can't all go off chasing the Bass 24-7, and perhaps gear it around another event would help. I think a show is a great idea as again like ****, for me Nantes was far more social than anything else we'd done.

Cornwall bumble could be the right place and there will certainly be plenty of socialising going on because of the number of us Welsh (adopted in my case) Bumblers there. So why not go for it there.....especially as it seems there's loads of people going. I believe Nathan is already trying to negotiate rates for us travellers bringing a load of social business as well has to be an extra bonus to who ever takes us on........I like the sound of this.....:-D:-D:-D:-D

The Cornwall trip could be good as I dont think even the die hards will want to be out much into the evening given the likely temperatures and that it will be dark come 5.0! What will do all evening? A quiet game of scrabble and a mug of cocoa? NOT!!!!!

The Cornish meet will be great at end of November, but the hotel needs to do better with the rates, as he needs us. More than we need it, getting close now tho boys with the info u require.
