Yes, I'd watched that poll.

I think it interesting that the xlayer killed the opposition but...
If you look further down the list, they note the giant xlayer as a separate entity.

Combine both votes to get a real picture.

I also note just how well the Fin S and similar fluke tailed baits did.
It's a shame that price wise we are pushed out of the serious xlayer market.

They ARE too expensive outside of Japan and i really wish there was another way to get hands on with alot of the colours and sizes.
Even buying from Japan, though much cheaper, is fraught with disappointment. Often out of stock, maximum orders like 3 packets !! and then customs duty and ridiculous postage and carriage costs to boot.

If a bunch of guys did a bulk order, you could save a fortune but...
There is always the risk.

Why can't a local guy get them at ground level trade cost ?
In Japan they are what ? £7 a packet ? so likely £4 trade.

I'd happily pay 9.95 for xlayers but I know our suppliers are tied in to wholesalers who demand a big slice.
Brilliant lure but getting a bit like a drugs...

Black market time I think.

Wrasse lures aside, the results on the soft lures pretty much emulate our own findings.

Re the xlayers, I have noticed they have become harder and harder to get hold of on eBay. I used to be able to get them at very good prices, but am finding it very hard to find places that actually sell them now.

Yes Alex, it was anselmo's post on home made lures.

I'm making my Xorus Sayori shad and Rolling shad moulds tonight ( having ballsed up my first attempt)!

Got the plastic, glitters, colours and aniseed scent coming from France too.

I may well do an xlayer mould too, but I have a bit of a paddle tail fetish.

Make them!
Geez guys x-layers are the EASIEST of them all to mold and pour
Simple one sided molds and easy top pour
piece of p*ss - even adding the rattles is an absolute doddle

If you're nervous about the molding side let me know and I'll make some molds up and sell them to y'all at cost plus postage

Look how easily Dicky Smith made his molds of a much harder pattern
