Guys have been putting scents and flavours on lures for years. Admittedly not inside. But inside outside whats the difference all bleed into the water. Its also a good idea to rub fish oil or the like on your hands before fishing. Especially if you smoke.

fished lures hard for the last 5 years, my mate fished the other side of the boat comes from a carp background and regularly brings a bucket full of high attraction dip and dunks his lures each cast.

personally think it made a real mess, but if you think it gives you the edge, then its got to be worth ago. It caught, for sure, but not anything to say it out fished the plain old lure
