Would it be possible to crete a main calendar into which w can recor all the festivals, meets and bumbles c/w wth details of how to join?

Jon, anyone else interested, use the top calendar- add new event-add description-save-all can view. You can create events by one date or over multiple dates. Any help or anyone want me to theirs for them, pm me the dates and description and in will sort it all for you.
