    Megabass X-140 versus X-120

Both very similar lures but the X-140 far out catches for me than the X-120. Why is this??

Do you use the X-140 more Nigel? That is one possible explanation.

I have never tried the X-120 but the X-140 is in my top 3.

I've given the X-120 a lot of water time Walter, but I've lost confidence in the lure even though it looks stunning & very sand eel like.

X140 Hama is a great lure. Not caught on the X120 Nigel but in fairness it doesn't get a lot of water time. Reminds me of the MOAB 120, which looks great, but hasn't delivered the goods either.

I've caught on the X-140 and the Pollack really like it but not a sniff on the X-120 yet.

Yes Andy. I have also found that pollock (small in my case) are also very fond of the X-140.

I wasn't going to mention that they were mostly small Walter , though my PB shore Pollack of just under 5lb was caught on the X-140 all the rest have been under a pound.

    X-120 for me.
But I fish a lot of very shallow ground so 'Forced' to fish it more as it swims that bit shallower than it big brother.
The X-120 also suits my rod better (injection). It flys for its size and weight.

    Cheers Nath

Interesting post Nathan, most of my marks are shallow too so I took the X-140 out of my A - box quite some time ago, after reading this thread though I had put the X-120 in for this year so it's nice to hear that someone else from this neck of the woods uses it .

Boyth excellent lures. I prefer the x-120 in the early season when bass hunt smaller baitfish. I love the x-120 too for fishing for asp here at the rivers and canals. The x-140 casts further but runs deeper. It all depends on the circumstances like wind, swell shallow grounds.
