i went off for a scout around today with alan to see if we could find some new marks what do ye think the first 5 are in the same place but the last pic is of a spot near where the river meets the sea not many people fish this spot as you would loose a lot of gear.we were thinking some top water lures over this ground any advice is wellcome.

Tons of potential there.
I really envy you blokes sometimes as you can continue discovering by simply keeping walking.

Not so easy here so we swim instead. In fact, walking more than a few hundred meters here uninterrupted
is actually pretty tough down the rocks.

On the flood I think.

Is there lateral current or is it swell prone ?

I'd walk along there and look for any breaks in that boulder bar. It could form a 'cut' see Kev's
googan's guide for explanation of why.

keith lateral current do you think its worth a shot along there when the conditions improve?in the first spot we were looking out to sea and about a mile out there was hundreds of gulls in a ball working hard what would they be feeding on at the moment?

yes, absolutely try it.

Try hard and soft baits.

You might find that working the area with a float/jig might pay dividends.
The float and jig will also work at one known mark in summer to keep the SP or fly/jig just above the
green weed that adorns the bottom of the backwater then.

Maybe we'll fish it together as we'll be back to SE Ireland asap when conditions suit.

The gulls could be on smelt or sandeel maybe.
