I think they are playing catch up on the first one actually, Tunny. I read that 100-140mm sinking type lures are being used the most for flounder in Japan. I've seen other manufacturers lures that look identical to that Duo lure, which have been out for quite a while. Having said that I think the added density is a new aspect because that is heavy for a 130mm lure. That's more of a "Super Sinker" rather than just a "Sinking" lure imho.

The second one looks very interesting indeed though. Love the look of that plug.

I imagine they could be used for targetting smaller tropical species and smaller tuna - look good though!
