Dazdec,
What rod have you got now?
What do you like/dislike about it?
And what lure weight range are you looking for?
Basically the more info you can provide, the better chance of being able to point you in the right direction.

I saw one of the longer Sakura Rookie rods for the first time the other day, and I thought it was awesome - one hell of a lot of good rod for the money.

Would love to see the 8''6' one day - if Keith says it's a stunner, I am inclined to take that as a given.

Seems that we are now starting to be able to get our hands on what we might term more "modern style bassing" rods for lots of different prices - good news for all.

Mr Fish stocks them, Daz.

Aren't Sakura owned by a french coarse angling company called SERF or something?

Their new catalogue somone posted up the other day is awesome. Very professional.

We could learn a lot from them, but alas we're a little way behind the French at the minute.

Henry, the longer one is nice, agreed.

the 8' 6" though is dead right action wise.

A very few minor teething problems maybe ref: the uplocking reel seat, but that is
perhaps personal preference rather than anything else.

Good kit on the rod and super, super light and crispy...

man, crispy like newly baked biscuits m8.

the 8' 6" is very well balanced in the hand too. If it was painted red and the wall thickness
went up, in a blind test, you'd be hard pressed if you didn't have tons of red rod handling experience
to determine its pedigree.

I really like it.
