Well, after many years of use and some excellent photos, my canon S50 has moved on  It was super easy to use and produced great quality shots at a lowly(by todays standards) 5mp.

So, I'll be getting another similar sized compact just after Crimbo, would like to stay with canon :wackit:

Anyone got some good recommendations? Anyone use the pentax Optio?

I've used Pentax Optio S5i for the last few years - superb bit of kit. On my recommendation, many of my family members have the updated versions . . . all very happy with them. There's a thread running on camera's i think in the clothing & gear section - in there you'll see the new Panasonic Lumix FT1 that my misses has bought me for Xmas. Under £200 delivered. I did quite a bit of research, and it looked the best option to me for fishing (shock-proof, water-proof, etc . . ).

Anyone know about the canon powershot D10 (I know hounddog uses one)?
I looked at that option. Reason that i didnt go for it, is that it's quite bulky by comparison to the Panasonic (plus it looks like a Fisherprice toy !! ).
hmm, currently watching a couple of good but 2nd cams on the wonderful 'bay of plenty :jump:
