Going to Hereford to fish the Wye this week any idea how to catch the perch .
had them to 3lb on lobs but never lure fished for them as lure fishing is banned between April and mid October

If I were going to fish a river like the Wye for perch, I would use a Mepps Aglia spinner size 3 if the water was clear with not too much movement . I would select a copper blade (1st choice) or gold. Silver if coloured water,
or, if much water movement,
a Mepps Comet spinner size 3 gold with red spots if clear, or silver with red spots if not.

A Mepps Aglia long size 3 if the water is slow and deep, with colours as above.
