Went out plugging for a couple hours this morning with hound dog, (steve payne) Rob Taylor, and Henry Gilbey. Steve got there before us and got his hands on a almost 5lb bass, then we turned up and I kid u not it was my first cast and I just couldn't believe the size bass following my plug, so I twitched it all the way in, stopping and twitching and the bass hit me about 2 feet away, unreal!!!! I had the fish landed at my feet with in 5 seconds. (9lb BASS in January ) I have not stopped smilling...... and the bass went back fine. :horsesword:

Henry took photos, and no doubt they will be on his web site soon hopefully, I ve asked him if he will send me some, so I can put them on here and to top up my blog. :laserswords:

Cheers boys for a great morning bassing!! :muttley:

Bloody well done Nathan. You're making me sick (in a good way) with all these catch reports! Can't wait to see the pics.

You're starting to get on my nerves, nathan.

Can you please stop catching with immediate effect. I'm longing to get out there. Impossible at the minute.

Seriously, well done, mate! The old man has a double last week, you with a 9lber this week. IN JANUARY.

All hail the feed shallow :wackit:

Re: Personal Best in southern Cornwall

I have only known this location for about 2 years and i had great fish last year too, and lost what would of been my first Double, but for some reason this place only turns out big fish during the winter and during the summer produces small ones. I find that i catch bigger bass along the south coast more than on the north coast, but yet again i guesss thats due to the ground being very different!!

They are fantastic photos. Hearing that a 9lb being taken in January is unreal, but with Hounddog gettig a 5lber as well, it's no one-off.

We all need to move to Cornwall

Outstanding fish by Nathan, but from a photography point of view I just wish we had got a decent drop of light right at that moment so I could have really made something very cool of such a special fish - but you take what you get, especially at this time of year !! Fantastic guys to fish with.
