Supposedly it's a good colour in kind of stained water, but I have a pink zonk that I've caught bass on the the middle of a bright summer day in crystal clear water also, so your guess is as good as mine. Give it a go!

Usually clip on the pink back when you get a pinky evening sky. Worked well for me last year.

......pink sunrise too rich, just a hue of pink on a lure seems popular with the fish.

I don't know about time of day but I've caught bass on pink SPs in rough coloured water in daylight a few times & know they work in the dark.

I used to do well on a pink x-rap 10. Some say its a good colour for murky waters or at darker conditions but pink catches in daylight too.

Reality is the discussion here is based around a species of fish (bass) of which I have no experience so likely should not comment...but alas, I will!:)
I am also not certain if this discussion is in regards to surface lures as it is posted in that section.

Anyway, here in Planet Oz, I have found that pink can be a great color at times to use on freshwater trout. I think the time of the year that pink works well coincides with spawning time. Rainbow trout have their spawning colors...a bright red flush down the side. I wonder if the pink resembles these spawning colors and triggers an aggressive territorial strike. Just my view! Do you have any baitfish that are of a pinkish color any time of their life cycle?

I don't know of any pinky bait-fish but thinking out of the box a bit, a silver bait fish close to the surface on a morning or evening when there's a redish glow in the sky wouldn't the sky reflect a pinkish hue off their flanks

thanks for the replies gents all very interesting

The pink Savage Gear Sandeel has worked for me in dusk but no where near as well as the chartreuse one.

I've caught using a pink komomo 125 in low light and at night.
If your into matching the hatch, then throwing pink when squid are around could be key.
