Well it seemed like a nice enough day so I got the plugs out and drove off to find me somewhere to have a plug!! Air temp 2c, wind N Force 8. Windchill, something which makes you go numb.
I then had some car trouble... The old Golf is a bit upset... Engine overheats and the heater inside the car don't work. All fuses OK. So what have I broken??
Anyway. I could do about half a mile before the engine got to the point of making hissing sounds so I worked round the coast on the way home planning stopping points for a chuck or 3 while the engine cooled off.
I soon discovered that it was cold and windy so I had to put the float suit jacket on which really restricts plugging. Had a few chucks into the wind which had a strange numbing effect on the face and extremities. I was watching a couple of shags swimming about in front me me and one of them pops up with something silver and large in it's gob. I swear it was a schoolie bass, the bugger ate it!! Spurred on for another 2 casts I saw nothing and was struggling with the wind taking the line out so I couldn't work the plug proper.
gave up and made a dash for home. Steam pouring out of the bonnet by the time I parked up and into the warm.
Guess i'm gonna have to ask someone to look at my fishing car then, but maybe it would be cheaper to look for a new one???
